![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Moving on to the game proper, we found ourselves presented with a first level that was exactly what we've come to expect from the Spyro series. The level was actually a lot of fun, especially when we discovered that we were able to collect barrels that upgraded our jetpack with an insane nitro boost. The objectives included flying through eight rings, flying under eight arches, dropping bombs on eight ground targets, and using missiles to kill eight flying enemies and eight ground-based enemies. The level required us to fly over an island and complete five different objectives within a three-minute time limit. The level was quite unlike what we've come to expect from the Spyro series. The first level we played, which is featured in a demo that VU Games representatives handed out to show attendees, actually didn't feature Spyro the Dragon at all but rather Sergeant Bird, a penguin equipped with a jetpack. Versions of the game for all three current-generation consoles were on display at the Game Stars Live event in London, but most of our time was actually spent playing the PlayStation 2 version. At a recent press event, we had the opportunity to get our hands on Spyro: A Hero's Tail.
